Riegens has a voice and we intend to use it.

Lighting accounts for 17.5% of global electricity use, and has a profound effect on climate change and air pollution.

Artificial light enables us to see when daylight is absent or insufficient or when night falls. This is a privilege our fellow creature inhabitants don’t need and don’t want.
We must pay for this privilege by harnessing our skills, our resources and our resolve to develop increasingly efficient lighting systems and methods of using them.

Riegens will promote the use of energy efficient lamps and control gear. We will promote the use of advanced reflector optics. A typical luminaire absorbs more than 50% of the light emitted by the light source, the most efficient absorbs less than 10%.

Riegens will promote the accurate measurement of installed illuminance levels and campaign for internationally agreed standards for identical spaces.

We will promote the use of lighting control systems, turn lights off when no one is present and dim artificial light in response to rising daylight levels.

At Riegens we will continue to invest in the energy efficiency of our own manufacturing facilities in Denmark and the United Kingdom, to ensure our products are produced as we intend them to be used.

Riegens planning with technology for the protection of our environment.
